Pass it on Clothing
Some of the Bellgrove Advisory team recently got to spend an afternoon and evening volunteering with Pass it on Clothing & Co’s “Experience & Education Program”.
The program involved Bellgrove personnel working with Chris Vagg and Olga Puga to sort and package up newly donated clothing for distribution that evening. As we sorted the clothing, it was a fantastic opportunity to learn about the logistics that go into providing support to those that need it. We also learned about the varied causes of homelessness, including unexpected life events like the death of a loved one, a relationship break down or a sudden job loss.
Pass it on Clothing & Co are one for the few organisations helping not only those experiencing homelessness, but those at risk of becoming homeless – an unfortunate reality facing more people in the current cost of living crisis.
As a group we then headed to Martin Place to distribute the clothes. The time went so quickly as we spent time assisting people to pick out suitable outfits, sharing stories and a couple of laughs along the way. It was both a humbling and heart-warming experience.
That evening the team passed on 488 pieces of clothing – 357 male and 131 female - and partook in an experience they will never forget.
