The Sydney Metro City & Southwest project is a new metro line extending metro rail from the end of Sydney Metro Northwest at Chatswood under Sydney Harbour, through new CBD stations and southwest to Bankstown (with a Brownfield rail conversion from Sydenham to Bankstown).

Our personnel worked as part of the integrated project team procuring and delivering the project. Our personnel have also provided external strategic advisory support to the project.

Key services our personnel provided:

  • Led the negotiation and execution of relevant third-party agreements that were included in the executable form of main contracts, effectively managing the principal’s program and cost risks arising from third party interfaces.

  • Provided strategic commercial and claims advisory services on matters relating to the PPP Trains, Systems, Operations and Maintenance contract including a review of the potential limbs of claim related to handover asset performance associated with the operations and maintenance obligations through the operating term.

  • Provided strategic and commercial support on interface agreements with third parties, including appropriate and reasonable risk allocation via the contractual pass down schedules with contractors.

  •  Led the ongoing management of key stakeholder relationships, the identification and management of third party risks, and assisted the delivery teams to ensure all parties (Sydney Metro; third parties including Sydney Trains; Transport for NSW; utility providers and councils; major contract delivery partners and the Independent Certifier) met their respective contractual obligations to mitigate any risks to reputation, cost and program. 

  • Developed and implemented project principles of risk, program, change, safety, environment, and quality management.

  • Provided management of commercial, contractual and program risks associated through delivery and the completion and handover of works.
